Karakasa / Japanese Parasol • Enamel Pin • Shishido Creative
A little creepy, a little cute, this karakasa (parasol) yokai isn't too wicked, but always ready to cause mischief! You never know when they'll pop out to give you a scare!
Endearing and relatable, the lore behind the Karakasa is that it is a well-used object that has been forgotten. Imagine using your parasol/umbrella all season long during the rainy months. One day you've tucked it over to a small corner by the door or in a closet. Months pass, the parasol falls underneath a pile of other items, forgotten. A new parasol design comes along in the next season and you decide to purchase it. Months turn into years, the old parasol gets aged and a little worse for wear. The parasol feels a little sad when it's ignored until finally, one day, it decides enough is enough! It's ready to get your attention and jumps out at you giving you a scare!
